I.             CALL TO ORDER – Council President Britto called the meeting to order. All members are present.

II.            INVOCATION OF EXECUTIVE SESSION Video Icon

The City Council of East Providence may meet in Executive Session pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws §42-46-5 (a)(2)(5)

Councilwoman Sousa made the motion to invoke Executive Session. Motion seconded by Council Vice President Rodericks. Motion passes 5-0.

Any discussion or consideration related to the acquisition or lease of real property for public purposes of the disposition of publicly held property.

4.       Presentation Related to Metacomet Country Club, pursuant to the resolution passed on October 6, 2020:

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RESOLUTIONS BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATE OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND REQUESTING EAST PROVIDENCE CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER PURCHASING THE METACOMET GOLF CLUB AS OPEN SPACE

Sara Frew represented the Assessor’s office.

Malcolm Moore represented the Finance Department.

Mayor DaSilva represented the administration.

Conversation about drafting a resolution for private counsel was discussed and asked to have it on the docket on the November 24, 2020 meeting.

Public Hearing offered. There was a “Cynthia” who was on Zoom, a “hello” was heard and could not hear anything else. Council President Britto did circle back to Cynthia and heard nothing more.

Derek Mendoza called in and asked if this was about Public Comment for Metacomet. Council President stated this Public Hearing was for the above ordinance.

Public Hearing closed.

Motion to approve by Council Vice President Rodericks. Motion seconded by Councilwoman Sousa. Motion passes unanimously, 5-0.

Prior to adjournment, both Councilman Mourato and Councilman Cahoon recognized veterans and PTSD awareness and organizations that are out there, (none specific were mentioned).
