Councilwoman Sousa was absent for the meeting.

Each speaker will be limited to three (3) minutes. The order of the speakers will be on a first come, first serve basis and the maximum time for public comment shall be limited to thirty (30) minutes per meeting.

IV.        MAYORAL COMMUNICATIONS

Award to Bid, “Replacing the South Broadway 72-inch Diameter Steel Culvert” to D’Ambra Construction Company (Please see, Item

Letter to CounciI was noted and distributed to the Council.

This was previously approved by the Council during the 2019-2020 budget season under Capital Improvement Fund.

No vote was needed for this item.

 

COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS

 

a)   Update: (W/MBE) Women and Minority Business Enterprise High School Oversight Committee

-Council President Britto

Council President Britto provided an update for the Council. Effective on March 30, 2020, there were over $68 million awarded for the new East Providence High School project. Contracts awarded overall are at 17.73% to W/MBE. The goal is 10%. Council President thanked Gilbane for their participation in this project.

Update from Councilman Cahoon: short of 18% of participation as of last night.

 

V.         NEW BUSINESS

 

a)   REPORTS FROM CITY OFFICIALS

 

1.   Handicap Parking Assignment for 5 Apollo Road,

East Providence 02914 – Steve Coutu, Director of Public Works

Councilman Cahoon did provide some background regarding the need for this accommodation.

Motion to approve made by Councilman Cahoon. Seconded by Council Vice President Rodericks. Motion passes unanimously.

 

b)   RESOLUTIONS

1.   RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE SOUTH BROADWAY 72 INCH CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Sponsored by: Councilwoman Sousa

 

Unanimous consent given to move up this agenda item in conjunction to Council Communications.

 

Councilwoman Sousa made the motion to approve the resolution. Seconded by Councilman Mourato. Motion passes unanimously.

 

VI.        ADJOURNMENT

Councilwoman Sousa made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Councilman Mourato.

Motion passes unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
