MINUTES–SPECIAL SESSION MEETING

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2019

CALL TO ORDER: 7:00 P.M.  

145 TAUNTON AVENUE – CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS

EAST PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND

 

City Council:

Council President, Robert Britto – Ward 1

Council Vice-President: Bob Rodericks – At Large

Councilwoman Anna Sousa – Ward 2

Councilman Nate Cahoon – Ward 3

Councilman Ricardo Mourato – Ward 4

 

 

I.          CALL TO ORDER

Meeting called to order by President Britto. All Council members, Assistant City Solicitor Dylan Conley and City Clerk Samantha Burnett were present for the meeting.

II.         OPEN SESSION

Council President Britto indicated that this is a budget work session and is not a public hearing.

III.        PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Council President Britto led the pledge of allegiance.

IV.        BUDGET WORKSHOP FOR 2019-2020 FISCAL YEAR

(Discussion Only)

The Council will be going in chronological order for the budget. Public hearing will likely be on October 1st. Council President asked if Finance Director Malcolm Moore is present. At the time he was not, and Paul Luba answered questions from the Council. The budgets discussed were City Council, Mayor, City Clerk and Information Technology. Finance Director Malcolm Moore, Mayor Bob DaSilva, City Clerk, Samantha Burnett and Kelly Ahrens, CIO for the City of East Providence were present and engaged in the discussion with the Council.

 

The next meeting will begin with Legal and then go in chronological order.

 

Councilwoman Sousa made the motion to adjourn. Council Vice President Rodericks seconded the motion.

Motion passes unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
