A.    City Managers Report (by Acting City Manager, Paul Lemont)

1.      Request to Approve Bid Award for State Road and Bridge Revolving Loan Fund

The City Manager states there were 6 qualified bidders.  Cardi’s was the lowest bidder at $1,083,350 and he recommends Cardi’s. 

Discussion takes place regarding Lynch and that they have a local office.  There is also discussion about possibly splitting and giving one contract to Lynch and one to Cardi’s.  However, upon advice of Solicitor Craven, hearing no reasons which would meet deviating from the law this discussion is discontinued.

 

Director Coutu speaks regarding road construction on certain roads taking place following National Grid’s pipe work. 

Erik Skadberg City Engineer adds that all the National Grid work is scheduled to be complete by the end of September. 

 

A motion to approve is made by Assistant Mayor Rose, seconded by Councilwoman Rossi and on a roll call vote it is unanimous. 

 

 

2.      Request to Approve Bid Award for CDBG Grove Avenue

The City Manager states that Cardi’s is the lowest qualified bidder at $954,075.

 

A motion to approve is made by Councilman Cunha, seconded by Assistant Mayor Rose and on a roll call vote it is unanimous. 

 

IV.             ADJOURNMENT

 

A motion to adjourn is made by Councilwoman Capobianco, seconded by Councilwoman Rossi and on a roll call vote it is unanimous.
