City Solicitor discusses going into executive session in accordance with Section 42-46-5-(a) (2) (Collective Bargaining/Litigation), (Regarding Arbitration Award – Case #113900127906).
Councilman Cusack requests we let the public be heard.
On motion by Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman DiTraglia, and on a roll-call vote it is unanimously approved to defer to go to executive session.
Joseph Martin, 22 Charlotte Street (02915) was sworn in by City Solicitor.
He spoke how he pays for his medical. Prescriptions keep going up. You talk about the Sewer bill going up $60.00, this and that, you want more and more. I hope the City Council and the School Committee don’t give in. This is not in the contract. We’re going to have a Revolution. When the City goes bankrupt what are you going to do than?
John Fahey 2535 Pawtucket Avenue (02915) is sworn in by City Solicitor.
We talk about contract. This is very clear it is a premium. Please continue with this policy and support this policy.

Please remember you were elected to this office to represent the citizens of East Providence. I personally find it obscene that in today’s market that these buybacks continue. I don’t have a problem with the teachers and personnel have no cost health insurance plan. They should have co-pay, but for the practice to continue that people get paid for not taking a free plan, I find personally insulting as a property owner. I personally don’t have health insurance as of the 1st of December. I can’t do $1600.00 a month for Blue Chip coverage. It went from $1259.00 to $1584.00 I’m out of the game at $19,000.00 a year for my significant other and myself. A family plan would be $24,000.00 a year. In the light of those facts I find it an insult that people should by paid for a first class plan. Please act as my Representatives and Represent me. Take this to the wire.

Is there a memorandum of understanding between the City Council and the School Committee? Contracts a contract. Memorandum is a memorandum. Was the memorandum binding?
