PROCLAMATIONS, PRESENTATIONS, INTRODUCTIONS
Mayor Larisa speaks about giving recognition to the East Providence Girls Volleyball 2004 State Champions. He states that Coach Luis Carvalho has won many awards for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams and that he’s a tremendous asset to the community year after year with the student athletes.
Proclamations are presented the East Providence Senior High School Girl’s Volleyball Team 2004 State Champions, along with their coaches.
Mayor Larisa speaks about giving recognition to the East Providence Mohawks Pee-Wee and Midget Division 2004 State Champions. He states that they are great athletes and students and that the coaches and players really work well together both on and off the field. The Council is very pleased to honor them for what they mean to our city.
Proclamations are presented to the East Providence Mohawks Midget and Pee-Wee Divisions 2004 State Champions, along with their coaches.

The following ordinance adds handicapped parking in front of 43 Arcadia Avenue.
1.AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EAST PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, 1998, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” SECTION 1. Article X entitled “Stopping, Standing and Parking”, Subsec 18-315 entitled “Reserved parking designated-Handicapped parking” adding: ARCADIA AVENUE (north side) in front of house number 43. (By Director of Public Works)
On motion of Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman Miranda, it is unanimously voted to dispense with the reading of the ordinance.

On motion of Councilman Midgley, seconded by Councilman Miranda, and on a roll-call vote, it is unanimously voted to approve for Final Passage.
The following ordinance adds a stop sign at Cushman and Clyde Avenues.
2.AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EAST PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, 1998, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED, “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”, SECTION 1. Sec. 18-269 entitled “Stop and yield intersections designated; when stops required” adding: CUSHMAN AVENUE (eastbound and westbound traffic) at CLYDE AVENUE.
On motion of Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman Caine, it is unanimously voted to dispense with the reading of the ordinance.
There is no one from the public wishing to be heard.
On motion of Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman Miranda, and on a roll-call vote, it is unanimously voted to approve for Final Passage.
The following ordinance establishes no parking on both sides of Sutton Avenue from Massasoit Avenue east for a distance of 195 feet.
3. AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EAST PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, 1998, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” SECTION 1. Article X entitled “Stopping, Standing and Parking”, Subsec 18-307 entitled “Parking prohibited at all times” adding: SUTTON AVENUE (both sides) from MASSASOIT AVENUE east for a distance of 195 feet.
On motion of Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman Miranda, it is unanimously voted to dispense with the reading of the ordinance.
There is no one from the public wishing to be heard.
On motion of Councilman Miranda, seconded by Councilman Caine, and on a roll-call vote, it is unanimously voted to approve for Final Passage.
The following ordinance establishes limited time parking on both sides of Sutton Avenue from a point 195 feet east of Massasoit Avenue to a point 330 feet east.
4. AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EAST PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, 1998, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”, SECTION 1, Article X entitled “Stopping, Standing and Parking” Subsec 18-312 entitled “Same–120 minutes” adding: SUTTON AVENUE (both sides) from a point 195 feet east of MASSASOIT AVENUE to a point 330 feet east.
On motion of Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman Caine, it is unanimously voted to dispense with the reading of the ordinance.

On motion of Councilman Miranda, seconded by Councilman Caine, and on a roll-call vote, it is unanimously voted to approve for Final Passage.
The following ordinance removes the parking restriction on Sutton Avenue from a point 38 feet east of Massasoit Avenue.
5.AN ORDINANCE IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EAST PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, 1998, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”, SECTION 1. Article X entitled “Stopping, Standing and Parking” Subsec 18-310 entitled “Same–30 minutes” deleting: SUTTON AVENUE (north side) from a point 38 feet east of MASSASOIT AVENUE east for 480 feet from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., except Sundays and holidays.
On motion of Councilwoman Perry, seconded by Councilman Miranda, it is unanimously voted to dispense with the reading of the ordinance.
