JOURNAL OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MONDAY
7:30 P.M.
The City Council meets in the Council Chamber on Monday, January 10, 1994, and is called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Mayor Rolland R. Grant.

Norman J. Miranda
Robert D. Sullivan
Paul E. Lemont ) City Manager
William J. Conley, Jr. ) City Solicitor
Valerie A. Perry ) City Clerk
Mayor Grant states that the meeting has been called to discuss F.O.P. Negotiations, salaries of unclassified personnel, and for interviews of Municipal Court judges.
A motion is made by Mr. Miranda, seconded by Mr. Sullivan to go into Closed Session to discuss the F.O.P. contract and the salaries of unclassified personnel.
Motion passes unanimously on a roll-call vote.

The meeting resumes into Open Session at 10:00 P.M.
Motion is made by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Miranda, to resume the Open Session. Motion passes unanimously on a roll-call vote.
Motion is made by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mr. Miranda, to continue this meeting to the next Council meeting, January 18, 1994.
Mr. Larisa says the interviews for Municipal Court Judge take a while, and after discussion, the motion is amended to continue the meeting to the February 7, 1994 Council meeting and for the City Clerk to advertise the position. Motion passes unanimously on a roll-call vote.
Mr. Larisa makes a motion that the format for the interviews be that the Council ask as many questions as they would like and for the public to give any questions they want answered to the Council. Also, that the public be allowed to take the podium and comment pro or con on the candidates. Mr. Lynch seconds the motion.
After discussion, roll-call vote is taken:

Mayor Grant Nay
Motion fails on a 2-3 vote.
Each candidate is asked to submit a resume to the City Clerk.
The Council apologizes to the candidates for the delay.
Motion is made by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Larisa, to adjourn the meeting.
Motion passes unanimously and the meeting is adjourned at 10:20 P.M.
