SPECIAL MEETING - CITY COUNCIL
-JULY 17, 2025-
Special meeting of the City Council was held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 869 Park Ave., Cranston, Rhode Island.
The meeting was called to order at 5:50 P.M. by the Council President.
Roll call showed the following members present: Councilmen Campopiano, Buonanno, Councilwomen Graziano, Haroian, Councilmen Andujar, Ritz, Council Vice-President Wall and Council President Marino -8.
Absent: Councilman Traficante -1.
Also Present: John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Stephen Angell, City Council Legal Counsel; Rosalba Zanni, Assistant City Clerk/Clerk of Committee.
7-25-01 ORDINANCE Ratifying School Committee’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Cranston Teachers’ Alliance Local 1704, AFT. Introduced pursuant to Charter Sec. 11.02.1.
7-25-02 ORDINANCE Ratifying School Committee’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Cranston Teachers’ Alliance Local 1704, AFT Paraprofessionals Unit (September 1, 2025 —- August 31, 2028). Introduced pursuant to Charter Sec. 11.02.17.
On motion by Councilwoman Haroian, second by Council Vice-President Wall, it was voted to take the above two Ordinances as a block. Motion passed on a vote of 8-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilmen Campopiano, Buonanno, Councilwomen Graziano, Haroian, Councilmen Andujar, Ritz, Council Vice-President Wall and Council President Marino -8.
On motion by Council Vice-President Wall, second by Councilwoman Haroian, it was voted to refer the above two Ordinances as a block to the Special Finance Committee meeting on July 24, 2025. Motion passed on a vote of 8-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilmen Campopiano, Buonanno, Councilwomen Graziano, Haroian, Councilmen Andujar, Ritz, Council Vice-President Wall and Council President Marino -8.
