Special Meeting of the City Council was held in the City of Cranston Council Chambers, Cranston City Hall, 869 Park Ave., Cranston, RI 02910, for the purpose of considering the following items listed on the agenda. Remote participation was also available.

This Special Meeting of the Cranston City Council was called by the Council President, Jessica M. Marino, pursuant to the Cranston City Charter Section §3.07 and Section 2.04.060 of the City's Code of Ordinances. 

 

I.          CALL TO ORDER

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:36 P.M. by the Council President, Jessica M. Marino

 

II.        ROLL CALL

 

The roll was called by the Clerk.  Stated as present:  Councilman Robert J. Ferri, Councilman John P. Donegan, Councilman Richard D. Campopiano, Councilman Christopher G. Paplauskas, Council President Jessica M. Marino. 

 

Absent:  Councilwoman Nicole Renzulli, Councilwoman Aniece Germain, and Council Vice-President Lammis J. Vargas. 

 

Also present:  Stephen Angell, Legal Counsel; John Verdecchia, Asst. City Solicitor; David DiMaio, Internal Auditor/Budget Analyst; and Tracy Nelson, City Clerk.

 

III.       INTRODUCTION OF NEW BUSINESS

 

RESOLUTION"Authorizing the sale of property located at 41 Heath Ave., also known as the former Sanders School, to Vicioso Homes for the sum of $261,500.00"; and further authorizing the Purchasing Agent to proceed with said sale; sponsored by Mayor Kenneth J. Hopkins; to be referred to Special Finance Committee meeting of May 22, 2023  

 

MOTION made by Councilman Ferri, SECOND by Councilman Paplauskas, to refer the Resolution for the sale of 41 Heath Ave., aka the former Sanders School, to the Special Finance Committee meeting scheduled for 6:45 P.M. this evening.

 

VOTE:  Ayes - Ferri, Donegan, Campopiano, Paplauskas, and Marino  (unanimous of those present)

 

IV.       ADJOURNMENT

 

MOTION made by Councilman Ferri, SECOND by Councilman Donegan to adjourn at 6:38 P.M. All Ayes
