SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

 

Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

A Special Meeting of the City Council was held in the City of Cranston Council Chambers, Cranston City Hall, 869 Park Ave., Cranston, RI 02910, for the purpose of considering the following items listed on the agenda.

 

This special meeting of the Cranston City Council was called pursuant to the Charter for the City of Cranston §3.07.  The members of the City Council listed below have been notified as provided for in §3.07:  Jessica M. Marino (Council President); Lammis J. Vargas (Council Vice-President); Councilwoman Nicole Renzulli; Councilman Christopher G. Paplauskas; Councilman Robert J. Ferri; Councilwoman Aniece Germain; Councilman John P. Donegan; Councilman Richard D. Campopiano and Councilman Matthew R. Reilly.

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:03 P.M. by Council President Marino.

 

The roll was called by the Clerk.  Stated as present:  Councilwoman Nicole Renzulli, Councilman John P. Donegan, Councilman Richard D. Campopiano, Councilman Christopher G. Paplauskas, Council President Jessica M. Marino.  Council Vice-President Lammis J. Vargas arrived at 6:10 P.M.

 

Absent:  Councilman Robert J. Ferri, Councilwoman Aniece Germain, and Councilman Matthew R. Reilly

 

Also present:  Tracy Nelson, City Clerk and Assistant City Clerk, Rosalba Zanni

 

Public Hearing on 2023-2024 Budget

 

There were no members of the public in chambers or on Zoom wishing to speak on the budget.

 

President Marino read aloud the schedule of departmental budget hearings, which commence this evening beginning at 6:15 P.M.

 

Resolution adoption of City Council Rules for the 2023-2024 term  

Sponsored by Council President Marino

 

President Marino called for a motion to continue this item to the April 13, 2023 Special Meeting so that the City Council's Legal Counsel, Stephen Angell, may participate.

 

MOTION made by Councilwoman Renzulli, SECONDED by Councilman Donegan to continue the Resolution for adoption of City Council Rules to the April 13, 2023 meeting.

 

VOTE:  Ayes - Renzulli, Donegan, Campopiano, Paplauskas, and Marino (unanimous)

 

MOTION made by Councilman Donegan, SECONDED by Councilwoman Renzulli to adjourn at 6:12 P.M.   All Ayes
