SPECIAL MEETING – CITY COUNCIL

-MARCH 7, 2022-

A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, March 7, 2022 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Cranston, Rhode Island.

The meeting was called to order at 6:50 P.M. by the Council President.

Roll call showed the following members present: Councilwomen Marino, Renzulli, Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Campopiano and Council President Paplauskas -7.

Absent: Councilman Reilly and Council Vice-President Ferri -2.

Also Present: Anthony Moretti, Chief of Staff; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.

· Introduction only, for presentation at Ordinance Committee 3-17-2022. (Vote will be taken).

· Introduction of Ordinance 3-22-01S in amendment of Title 2 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005, establishing Section 2.04.090, entitled “Ward Boundaries” (Enacting the City of Cranston’s 2022 Ward Redistricting Plan). Referred to Ordinance Committee March 17, 2022 (Vote will be taken). Sponsored by Council President Paplauskas.

· Resolution memorializing the General Assembly to enact the City of Cranston’s 2022 Ward Redistricting Plan into Law. Referred to Ordinance Committee March 17, 2022 (Vote will be taken). Sponsored by Council President Paplauskas.

On motion by Councilwoman Renzulli, seconded by Councilwoman Germain, it was voted to refer the above items to the March 17, 2022 Ordinance Committee meeting. Motion passed on a vote of 7-0. The following being recorded as voting “aye”: Councilwomen Marino, Renzulli, Vargas, Germain, Councilmen Donegan, Campopiano and Council President Paplauskas -7.

The meeting adjourned at 6:53 P.M.
