SPECIAL MEETING – CITY COUNCIL

 

-JUNE 6, 2022-

 

 

            A Special meeting of the City Council was called held on Monday, June 6, 2022 in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 869 Park Ave., Cranston, Rhode Island.

 

            The meeting was called to order at 6:45 P.M. by the Council President.

        

Roll call showed the following members present:  Councilwomen Marino, Renzulli, Vargas, Germain (appeared at 6:50 p.m.), Councilman Reilly, Council Vice-President Ferri and Council President Paplauskas -7.

 

            Also Present:  Anthony Moretti, Chief of Staff; John Verdecchia, Assistant City Solicitor; Steven Paiva, Mayor’s Communications Director; Stephen Angell, City Council Legal Counsel; David Dimaio, City Council Budget Analyst.

 

          Council President Paplauskas stated that Councilman Campopiano is not feeling well, but is listening in on Zoom.

 

 

·                     6-22-01S   Ordinance authorizing Loan Order for the City of Cranston to finance the acquisition, construction, improvement, renovation, repair and alteration of public buildings by the issuance of not more than $3,000,000 Bonds and Notes therefor.  Sponsored by Councilman Reilly.  Referred to Special Finance Committee June 16, 2022.

 

·                     6-22-02S   Ordinance authorizing Loan Order for the City of Cranston to finance the acquisition of fire equipment for the City’s Fire Department by the issuance of not more than $2,000,000 Bonds and Notes therefor.  Sponsored by Councilman Reilly.  Referred to Special Finance Committee June 16, 2022.

 

·                     6-22-03S   Ordinance authorizing Loan Order for the City of Cranston to finance the acquisition, construction, improvement, renovation, repair, alteration and equipping of playground and athletic fields in the City of Cranston by the issuance of not more than $3,500,000 Bonds and Notes therefor.  Sponsored by Councilman Reilly.  Referred to Special Finance Committee June 16, 2022. (Vote will be taken).

 

·                     6-22-04S   Ordinance authorizing Loan Order for the City of Cranston to finance the construction, improvement, renovation, repair and alteration of City infrastructure by the Highway Department by the issuance of not more than $4,000,000 Bonds and Notes therefor.  Sponsored by Councilman Reilly.  Referred to Special Finance Committee June 16, 2022.

 

            On motion by Councilman Reilly, seconded by councilwoman Renzulli, it was voted to refer the above Ordinances to the June 16, 2022 Special Finance Committee meeting at 5:30 p.m.  Motion passed on a vote of 7-0.  The following being recorded as voting “aye”:  Councilwomen Marino, Renzulli, Vargas, Germain, Councilman Reilly, Council Vice-President Ferri and Council President Paplauskas -7.
