Meeting was called to order by Councilwoman Ristaino-Siegel at 6:02pm.

 

 

1.       Roll Call

Roll call was conducted by City Clerk, Sonia Grace. Present were Councilors Robert Ferri, Hugo Figueroa, Stephanie Gonzalez, Tammi Johnson, Shelby Maldonado, Ann Racquier, and Tia Ristaino-Siegel.

 

2.      Pledge of Allegiance

 

3.      Consideration of meeting minutes February 26, 2014

A motion to approve the meeting minutes of February 26, 2014 was made by Councilwoman Gonzalez, seconded by Councilwoman Racquier. Motion passed 7-0.

 

4.      Liquor License status update

 

a.      Log In Entertainer, Inc.

d/b/a Lima’s Place

499 High Street

 

Elaine Partridge, Director of Public Works spoke on the matter. Ms. Partridge explained that, before today, the last extension was November 2013. Mr. Lima is close to being done; needs to finish electrical work before fire alarm can be installed, which can be done within four days of completion.

Councilors asked how close Mr. Lima is to finishing. Ms. Partridge suggested approximately 6 weeks.

Councilman Ferri recommended an extension for Mr. Lima, given how much work he has done.

Motion to approve with a sunset clause until renewal date was made by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilwoman Gonzalez. Motion passed 7-0

 

b.      Unik, Inc.

d/b/a Tropical Restaurant

855 Broad Street

 

Mr. Eugenio Gibao, owner of Tropical Restaurant was present and gave an update to the Board. According to Mr. Gibao, he was audited by the state last year and, due to changes of staff at the Divison of Taxation, his audit has taken longer than expected. Mr. Gibao said he believed he only needed to submit one more document.

Councilors asked for a description of the documents needed. City Clerk, Sonia Grace, explained that Mr. Gibao was missing the Certificate of Good Standing.

Motion to grant extension pending receipt of letter of good standing, but no more than 30 days was made by Councilwoman Gonzalez, seconded by Councilwoman Racquier. Motion passed 7-0.

 

 

5.      Adjournment

 

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Racquier, seconded by Councilman Ferri. Meeting adjourned at 6:10pm.
