A meeting of the Central Falls Liquor Board was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 5:35 p.m.

 

1.      Roll Call  

 

Mayor Charles Moreau -absent

Councilor DeLaHoz

Councilor Benson

Councilor Aubin

Councilor Gil

Councilor Patino

All present. Councilor Patino chaired the meeting.

 

2.      Minutes

 

August 27, 2007

Motion to accept and place on file was made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor DeLaHoz.

All Agreed. So Voted.

 

3.      Correspondence

 

Colonel Joseph P. Moran re: Orisante Lounge-674 Dexter St.

 

Elizabeth A. Crowley, MMC City Clerk-Requesting License Holders that have hall rentals to appear at the November 19, 2007 meeting for renewal of their license.

 

Motion to accept and place on file was made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor DeLaHoz.

All Agreed. So Voted.

 

4.      Class F. License

 

St. Joseph Church

391 High St.

Parish Hall

Dec. 31, 2007 7pm-2am  New Year Eve Celebration Liquor being served only to 1 am.

Motion to approve  was made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor Benson and Gil.

All Agreed. So Voted.

 

5.      State Food Service License Suspended Show Cause Hearing

 

Garfield Social Club (presented certificates at meeting)

Orisonte Lounge—agreed to stay closed until attaining licenses.

International Sports Bar Inc. (presented certificates at meeting)

El Chapin Restaurant #3(presented certificates at meeting)

 

6.      Hearings

 

VFW Lefebvre Post 1271

Maintaining a disorderly house

Robert Bouvier, Commander was present to discuss the violation.  Mr. Bouvier explained the incident that happened.  There was much discussion with the Law department.

 

Motion to have Chief Moran review and make an assessment of each rental celebration and applicant and prior to any hall rentals, was made by Councilor Benson and seconded by Councilor Gil.

All Agreed. So Voted. 5-0

 

American Columbian Liquors

Sale to underage persons

 

Christopher Lambert, Esq. was present to represent Mrs. Esquaiqui.   Preliminary discussion took place with Jack Gannon of the Law Department.

It was agreed that she would take responsibility for the actions.  She would accept a $300.00 fine recommended by the Law department.

 

Motion to approve the recommendation of the Law Department was made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor Benson and Councilor Gil.

All Agreed. So Voted. 5-0

 

Hackers Pub

Maintaining a disorderly house

 

Robert Ameen, Esq. of Pawtucket, RI. Was present and represented Mr. Jose Vicente.  Chief Moran was present and explained what happened.  Then Mr. Vicente took the stand and told his side of the incident.  The Council questioned Mr. Vicente and the Chief.

 

Motion to order the establishment closed for 3 days, November  2, 3 and 4th was made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor Delehoz and Councilor Gil.

All Agreed. So Voted. 5-0
