Liquor Board Meeting
December 14, 1998
A Meeting of the Central Falls Liquor Board was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 8:30 p.m.

Quorum present.
Chairman Ferri stated that the Liquor Board Meetings will be conducted on a Regular Time Schedule from this point forward and instructed the Clerk to list future meeting calls at 8:00 p.m.

Councilman Noury asked the Law Department to investigate the Rhode Island Laws relative to renewal of a license that has no place to be stored.
The Law Department responded and cited RIGL 3-7-6 which speaks of Rejected of License renewal for cause and 3-5-16. It was also stated that the
license which is revoked for cause and the cause being abandonment but that the authority and decision comes at the discretion of the Board and this can
be decided by the Board.
Mr. Daniel Shannahan told the board that he would like the renewal and assured the Board that if he did not sell the license this year he would not seek to renew
the license next year. He told the Board that this business has been in continuous operation since his father first opened it in 1938.
Motion to approve the renewal of this license was made by Councilman Canavan and seconded by Councilman Weber.

The Clerk explained that this is not a new business but rather a paper change since this Business was operating as a corporation instead as an individual which the clerk was informed by the Division of Taxation on this change.

Paul Bettencourt, Esq. represented the applicants.
Councilman Canavan asked if the applicants are T.I.P. S trained.
Mr. Bettencourt stated that the applicants actually managed the establishment for New England Cafe.
