I.       Roll Call Video

Council President Robert Ferri called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and directed City Clerk Alberto de Burgo to conduct the roll call. Present were Councilpersons Tatiana Baena, Kevin Kazarian, Rafael Peguero, Alberto Rivas-Lugo, Laurilim Rosado-Martinez, and Council President Ferri. Councilperson Solano joined the Council at 6:10 pm

City Clerk Alberto de Burgo administered the oath of office to newly elected Councilmember Anthony Solano.

c.       A Resolution Opposing Proposed RIPTA Service Cuts Requesting Adequate Funding from the Rhode Island General Assembly (Councilperson Rivas Lugo)

The City Council may vote on this item

Council President Pro Tempore Alberto Rivas-Lugo provided the Council with background on the resolution. The resolution received unanimous support, and the Council expressed interest in co-sponsoring it. Councilperson Baena made a motion to amend the resolution to include the full Council as sponsors, which was seconded by Councilperson Rosado-Martinez. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.

A motion to approve the resolution with the proposed amendments was made by Councilperson Baena and seconded by Councilperson Peguero. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.

 

d.      Ordinance Amending FY 2026 Annual Operating Budget Ordinance-Sub-A (Council President Ferri by Request)-Second Reading

The City Council may vote on this item

Council President Ferri opened the public hearing. With no one signed up to speak, he promptly closed the hearing. Councilperson Baena made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Councilperson Rivas-Lugo. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.

 

e.       Ordinance Amending the Wage Schedule Generally (Council President Ferri by Request)-Second Reading

Council President Ferri opened the public hearing. As no one signed up to speak, he promptly closed it. Councilperson Rivas-Lugo moved to approve, and the motion was seconded by Councilperson Rosado-Martinez. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.

 

f.        Ordinance Amending the Ordinance SUB A pertaining to Salaries of Department Heads & Other in Unclassified Service (Council President Ferri by Request)-Second Reading

The City Council may vote on this item

Council President Ferri opened the public hearing. With no one signed up to speak, he promptly closed the hearing. Councilperson Kazarian made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Councilperson Rivas-Lugo. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.

 

g.       Amending Fire Department Vacancies (Council President Ferri by request)-Second Reading

The City Council may vote on this item

Council President Ferri opened the public hearing. As no one signed up to speak, he promptly closed it. Councilperson Rivas-Lugo moved to approve the item, and the motion was seconded by Councilperson Rosado-Martinez. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.

A motion to adjourn was made by Councilperson Rivas-Lugo and Seconded By Councilperson Rosado-Martinez.  Meeting adjourned at 6:16pm
