I.            Roll Call

City Clerk Alberto de Burgo, Conducted roll call. Present were Councilperson Meaghan Levasseur, Councilperson Kevin Kazarian, Councilperson Tatiana Baena, Councilperson Franklin Solano and Council President Robert Ferri. Councilperson Rafael Peguero, and Councilperson Laurilim Rosado-Martinez were not present.

     II.            Pledge of Allegiance

Council President Ferri led the Council in the pledge of Allegiance.

  III.            Approval of Records

a.       City Council Meeting Minutes of April 11, 2023

City Clerk Alberto de Burgo answered questions from the council concerning the minutes.  A motion to approve the meeting minutes of April 11, 2023, was made by Councilperson Baena; Seconded by Councilperson Levasseur. Motion passed 6,0.

   IV.            Executive Communications

a.       Proclamation Proclaiming May 14, 2023-May 20, 2023, as National Police Week in Central Falls

     V.            New Business

a.       Discussion with Department Directors regarding FY 24 Proposed Budget

                                                              i.      Finance Department

Director of Finance Mary Signer presented to the Council and answered questions concerning the FY 24 proposed budget.

                                                            ii.      Mayor’s Office

Chief of Staff Zuleyma Gomez presented to the Council and answered questions concerning her departments budget for FY24.

                                                          iii.      City Clerk

City Clerk Alberto de Burgo presented the Council and answered questions concerning the Clerk Department budget for FY 24.

                                                           iv.      Planning Department

Jim Vandermillen Planning Director presented to the council and answered questions regarding the Planning Department’s budget for fiscal year 2024.

                                                             v.      OCS

Wanda Cassiano Director of Office on Constituent Services presented to the council some of her goals and objectives for FY24 and answered questions from the Council.

   VI.            Schedule of Bills-Hearing and/or consideration

a.       A Resolution Celebrating After-School Professionals Appreciation Week April 24 – April 28, 2023, in Central Falls-(Baena)

Councilwoman Baena gave an explanation to the public and the Council regarding the Resolution Celebrating After-School Professional. A motion to approve was made by Councilman Kazarian; Seconded by Councilman Solano.  Motion passed 6,0.

2. Resolution Approving the sale from the City of Central Falls to Tai-O Landing, LLC for 1420 Broad Street, Assessors Plat 3 lot 62-(Ferri)

City Clerk Alberto de Burgo answered questions from the council about the resolution.  A motion to approve was made by Councilman Solano; Seconded by Councilman Kazarian.  Motion passed 6,0.

VII.            Adjournment

A motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Levasseur and Councilwoman Baena; Seconded by Councilman Kazarian.  Motion passed 6,0 meeting adjourned at 6:36 pm.
