Special City Council Meeting

Minutes

City Clerk, Jahaira Rodriguez, conducted the roll call. Present were Councilperson Meaghan Levasseur, Councilperson Kevin Kazarian, Councilperson Franklin Solano and Council President Jessica Vega. Councilperson Tatiana Baena, Councilperson Glendaliz Colon and Councilperson Robert Ferri were not present. Quorum was established.
Council President Vega asked Councilperson Levasseur to lead the Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

a) FY 2023 Annual Operating Budget Ordinance-General Fund (Vega, by request)
b) Ordinance Pertaining to the Salaries of Department Heads and Others in Unclassified Service (Vega, by request)
c) Ordinance Amending the Wage Schedule Generally (Vega, by request)
d) Annual Capital Program and Capital Budget Ordinance (Vega, by request)

Council President Vega opened for public hearing:
Tia Ristaino-Siegel, 14 Worth Street, Central Falls, had questions regarding ARPA funds-is there going to be a line item for those funds? What is going to happen with funds from the compassion center? Why is library aid listed when is not paid by the City?
Public hearing closed:
Motion to amend this Ordinance to increase the salary of Mavy Pineda by $2,000 and direct the Finance Director to change revenue line items accordingly was made by Councilperson Solano, seconded by Councilperson Levasseur. Motion carried 4,0.
Motion to approve the amended ordinance was made by Councilperson Kazarian, seconded by Councilperson Levasseur. Roll call vote: Councilperson Levasseur: Yes, Councilperson Kazarian: Yes, Councilperson Solano: Yes and Council President Vega: Yes. Motion carried 4,0.
