Special City Council Meeting

Minutes
Council President called the meeting to order at 5:36pm
I. Roll Call
City Clerk, Jahaira Rodriguez, conducted the roll call. Present was Councilperson Meaghan Levasseur, Councilperson Kevin Kazarian, Councilperson Franklin Solano and Council President Jessica Vega. Absent were, Councilperson Baena, Councilperson Colon and Councilperson Ferri. Quorum was established.
II. Pledge of Allegiance
Council President lead the Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
III. New Business
A. Discussion with Department Directors regarding FY 23 Proposed Budget
i. Department of Human Resource
ii. Office of the City Clerk
iii. Department of Public Works
iv. Department of Parks and Recreation
Department Directors addressed and answered questions of the Council. Director Ureña spoke about the negotiations of the collective bargaining. Spoke about the planning and execution of the recruitment for police/fire departments. City Clerk, Rodriguez addressed and answered questions of the Council. Jean Barros, Director of Department of Public Works addresses and answered questions of the Council. Alberto Rivas spoke to the Council about the Parks and Recreational Department and all the upcoming summer events like Salsa Night and others.
IV. Adjournment
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilperson Solano, seconded by Councilperson Kazarian. Meeting stands adjourn at 6:29pm.
Pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws § 42-46-4, the City Council reserves the right to convene in executive session on any of the aforementioned items for one or more of the purposes listed in Rhode Island General Laws § 42-46-5(1)-(10)
