Council President Jessica Vega called the meeting to order at 6:01pm

 

I.      Roll CallVideo Icon

City Clerk, Jahaira Rodriguez, conducted the roll call. Present were Councilperson Glendaliz Colon, Councilperson Hugo Figueroa, Councilperson Franklin Solano, Councilperson Adamaris Villar and Council President Jessica Vega. Councilperson Meaghan Levasseur and Councilperson Tatiana Baena were not present.

 

II.      Pledge of AllegianceVideo Icon

Council President Vega asked Councilperson Colon to lead the council in reciting the pledge of allegiance.

 

III.      New Business

Motion to approve the F1-Entertainment license was made by Councilperson Solano, seconded by Councilperson Figueroa. Motion carried unanimously.

President of the Mundialito League, Tatiana Baena spoke to the Council about the event.

President Vega asked about what precaution were being taken. Baena explained that the alcohol will be gated and that they will provide wrist bands for those who can purchase alcohol. She also explained that there will be police details. Board members Kelly Powers, 10 Rebecca Lane, Cumberland, RI, spoke about the end of the soccer tournament and the hours of operation being 9am-6pm and they expect about 300 hundred people. Mavy Pineda, 107 Tremont Street, Central Falls, RI, explained that the Mayor only allowed this event because the people will be in and out of the event and not staying all together. Board members also explained that they will be offering COVID vaccination clinic and encourage everyone to wear a mask. Councilperson Solano hopes all the rules are followed.

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilperson Solano, seconded by Councilperson Colon. Meeting stands adjourned at 6:10pm.
