
City of Central Falls Special City Council Meeting Tuesday, June 1, 2021
6:00 p.m.
Pursuant to Governor Gina M. Raimondo’s Executive Order 20-25 (April 15, 2020), the meeting of the City Council will be held using the platform Zoom-
Council President Jessica Vega called the meeting to order at 6:02pm
City Clerk, Jahaira Rodriguez conducted roll call. Present were Council President Jessica Vega, Councilperson Tatiana Baena, Councilperson Glendaliz Colon, Councilperson Hugo Figueroa, Councilperson Meaghan Levasseur, and Councilperson Franklin Solano. Councilwoman Adamaris Villar was not present. Quorum was established.
Councilperson Solano led the Council in the pledge of allegiance.

i. Meeting Minutes of Council Meeting of May 24, 2021
A motion to accept the minutes of May 24, 2021, was made by Councilperson Figueroa and Seconded by Councilperson Levasseur and Councilperson Solano. Motion passed 6,0.
a) Discussion with Department Directors regarding FY 2022 Proposed Budget
i. Fire Department:
Chief Scott Mello addressed the Council and answered questions concerning the Fire Departments budget.
Councilperson Vega appreciates Chief Mello. Councilperson Figueroa would like to see other departments assist us in future fires. Councilperson Solano and Councilperson Levasseur thanked the Chief.
ii. Emergency Management Agency
Chief of Staff, Zuleyma Gomez addressed the Council and answered questions concerning the Emergency Management Budget. She explained that we share the Emergency Management Director with the City of Pawtucket.
a) Discussion with Department Directors regarding FY 2022 Proposed Budget
i. Law Department
City Solicitor, Matthew Jerzyk addressed the Council and answered questions concerning the Legal Department’s budget. Councilperson Solano thanked Matt for his work.
ii. Human Resource Department
Human Resource Director, Dr. Ana Ureña addressed the Council and answered questions concerning the Human Resource Department’s budget. Councilperson Vega thanked Dr. Ureña for her work.
iii. Department of Public Works and Code Enforcement
Public Works Director, Jean Barros addressed the Council and answered questions concerning the budget. Councilperson Solano and Councilperson Vega thanked the Director for his presentation.
iv. Park and Recreation Department
Park and Recreation Department Director Alberto Rivas addressed the Council and answered questions concerning the budget. Councilperson Baena explained how Mundialito is no longer part of the City. Councilperson Levasseur thanked the Director, his team and the collaborations that they work on together. Councilperson Vega is excited to see what the Department is planning for the next fiscal year.
VII. Adjournment
A motion to adjourn was made by Councilperson Levasseur, seconded by Councilperson Colon. Meeting was adjourned at 7:52pm.
