Meeting Minutes

 

Council President Jessica Vega called the meeting to order at 6:02pm

 

I.        Roll Call

City Clerk, Jahaira Rodriguez, conducted the roll call. Present were Councilwoman Glendaliz Colon, Councilman Hugo Figueroa, Councilwoman Meaghan Levasseur, Councilman Franklin Solano, Councilwoman Adamaris Villar and Council President Jessica Vega. Councilwoman Baena entered the meeting at 6:10pm. There was quorum

 

II.       Pledge of Allegiance

Council President Vega asked Councilperson Colon to lead the Council in reciting the pledge of allegiance.

 

III.     Public Comment

Coach Manny Silva, 4 Parker St, Central Falls, RI, Panthers Football Chair, spoke about the fees to use the fields.  Coach Silva spoke about the financial hardship that some of the families have and is asking for a waiver. Council President urged Mr. Silva to get the waiver form from the Director of Parks and Recreation Department.

 

IV.     Approval of Records

a. Meeting minutes of June 30, 2021.

A motion to approve the meeting minutes of June 30, 2021, was made by Councilperson Solano and Councilperson Figueroa, seconded by Councilperson Colon. Motion carried 7, 0.

 

b. Meeting minutes of July 12, 2021.

A motion to approve the meeting minutes of July 12, 2021, was made by Councilperson Figueroa and Councilperson Colon, seconded by Councilperson Villar. Motion carried 6, 0. Councilperson Solano abstained from voting because he was absent on July 12, 2021.

V.       New Business

Motion to approve the F1-entertainment license for AG Servicios was made by Councilperson Colon, seconded by Councilperson Figueroa. Motion carried 7, 0.

 

Yoselin Borrero spoke about this event. The named the event, Colombian Summer Fest. This year she chose Central Falls because of the rich culture of our community. Explained that free of charge and that is working hard to have a successful event. Council President asked about security to which she explained that she has hired 6 police details and 2 fire fighter details. Councilperson Solano thanked her for choosing Central Falls. Councilperson Villar asked about parking to which she answered by saying that people will find parking on the quarter mile. She explained that the event is from 4-11pm. Ms. Borrero thanked the Council.

 

VI.     Adjournment

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilperson Solano, seconded by Councilperson Baena and Councilperson Colon. Meeting was adjourned at 6:32pm.
