Meeting Minutes

 

City Council President Maria Rivera called the meeting to order at 6:03pm

 

I.       Roll Call

Sonia Grace, City Clerk, conducted the roll call. Present were Council President Maria Rivera, Councilman Jonathon Acosta, Councilman Robert Ferri, Councilman Hugo Figueroa, Councilman Franklin Solano, and Councilwoman Jessica Vega. Councilman Gus Silva was absent. Quorum was present.

 

II.     Pledge of Allegiance

Councilwoman Rivera led the reciting of the pledge of allegiance

 

III.    Ordinance Amending Chapter 32, "Streets, Sidewalks and Other Public Places," Article VIII "Sidewalk Cafe License” by adding Sec. 32-304 Temporary Outdoor Expansion of Premises License- Second Reading (Rivera)

Public Hearing: no one signed up to speak

Matthew Jerzyk, City Solicitor, reviewed the amendments proposed in the Sub-A.

Motion to accept the Sub-A was made by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilman Figueroa and Councilman Solano.

Motion to amend Sub-A to add “or the takeout service of more than 2 alcoholic beverages per person” was made by Councilwoman Vega, seconded by Councilman Ferri. Roll call vote: Councilman Acosta: yes; Councilman Ferri: yes; Councilman Figueroa: yes; Councilman Solano: yes; Councilwoman Vega: yes; Council President Rivera: yes. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion to substitute Sub-A as amended was made by by Councilman Solano, seconded by Councilman Ferri. Roll call vote: Councilman Acosta: yes; Councilman Ferri: yes; Councilman Figueroa: yes; Councilman Solano: yes; Councilwoman Vega: no; Council President Rivera: yes. Motion carried 5-1.

Motion to approve Sub-A as amended was made by Councilman Figueroa, seconded by Councilman Ferri. . Roll call vote: Councilman Acosta: yes; Councilman Ferri: yes; Councilman Figueroa: yes; Councilman Solano: yes; Councilwoman Vega: no; Council President Rivera: yes. Motion carried 5-1.

 

IV.    Discussion with department directors regarding FY21 Proposed Budget

This item was not held. Discussion with department directors was moved to May 21, 2020.

 

V.      Adjournment

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Ferri. Seconded by Councilman Figueroa. Meeting adjourned at 6:27pm.
