City Council President Maria Rivera called the meeting to order at 6:05pm
Sonia Grace, City Clerk, conducted the roll call. Present were Council President Maria Rivera, Councilman Jonathon Acosta, Councilman Robert Ferri, Councilman Hugo Figueroa, Councilman Gus Silva, Councilman Franklin Solano, and Councilwoman Jessica Vega. Quorum was present.

Councilwoman Rivera lead the reciting of the pledge of allegiance

A. Ordinance amending FY20 Annual Operating Budget Ordinance-General Fund - Introduction (Rivera)
Introduced
B. Resolution Supporting HB-7587 and SB-2124 providing for medical assistance health care for expectant mothers and establishing medical assistance coverage and reimbursement rates for perinatal doula services (Rivera)
Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Solano, Councilman Ferri and Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilwoman Vega. Motion carried unanimously.
C. Resolution Supporting HB-7306 and SB-2003A which creates the “Plastic Waste Reduction Act” designed to reduce the use of plastic bags by retail establishments by offering recyclable bag options and providing penalties for violations (Solano)
Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilwoman Vega. Motion carried unanimously.
D. Resolution Supporting HB-7345 and SB-2203 which adjusts the amount of basic cash assistance provided to families living in deep poverty over a two-year period, and would implement an annual cost of living adjustment so that value of basic cash assistance does not erode in the future (Rivera)
Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilman Solano. Motion carried unanimously.
E. Resolution Supporting HB-7171, Article 21, Section 8 which enables and authorizes cities and town to regulate the use and sale of cigarettes, other tobacco products, and electronic nicotine delivery systems (Rivera)
Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilman Figueroa. Motion carried 6-0. Councilman Acosta voted present.
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilman Solano. Meeting adjourned at 6:11pm.
