Pursuant to Governor Gina M. Raimondo’s Executive Order 20-25 (April 15, 2020),

extended by Executive Orders 20-53 (July 10, 2020) and 20-63 (August 7, 2020),

Minutes

 

Council President Maria Rivera called the meeting to order at 5:37pm

 

I.       Roll Call

Sonia Grace, City Clerk, conducted the roll call. Present were Council President Maria Rivera, Councilman Jonathon Acosta, Councilman Robert Ferri, Councilman Hugo Figueroa, Councilman Gus Silva, Councilman Franklin Solano and Councilwoman Jessica Vega.

 

II.     Pledge of Allegiance

Council President Rivera led the reciting of the pledge of allegiance

 

III.    Public Comment

No one signed up to speak

 

IV.    Executive Communications

A.   Consideration of appointments by Mayor James Diossa to the Personnel Board:

i.    Susan F. Levasseur, of 151 Tremont Street, VICE Elizabeth Laramee with term to expire December 17, 2023

Motion to approve the appointment of Ms. Levasseur was mad e by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilman Solano. Motion carried unanimously.

 

ii.   Wanda Casiano, of 42 West Hunt Street #2 VICE Heiny Maldonado with term to expire December 17, 2023

Motion to approve the appointment of Ms. Casiano was made by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilman Figueroa and Councilman Solano. Motion carried unanimously.

 

iii.  Aly Chatham, of 100 Illinois Street, VICE Douglas Pendergrass with term to expire December 17, 2023.

Motion to approve the appointment of Ms. Chatman was made by Councilman Solano and Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilwoman Vega.  Motion carried unanimously.

Councilman Acosta recused from voting.

 

V.      New Business

A.   City Council sitting and Board of License Commissioners  

i.    Consideration of petition of license

Class of License	Business Information
Entertainment- Annual New	El Caballo Mayor Bar & Grill, Inc d/b/a El Caballo Mayor Bar and Grill, 636 Lonsdale Ave.

 

Motion to approve the entertainment license of El Caballo Mayor was made by Councilman Solano, seconded by Councilman Ferri. Motion carried unanimously

 

VI.    Schedule of Bills- Hearing and/or Consideration

A.   Resolution honoring and celebrating the contributions of James A. Diossa as Mayor of Central Falls (Rivera)

Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilman Solano. Motion carried unanimously.

 

B.   Resolution thanking and celebrating Robert A. Ferri for his honorable service as Councilman for Ward 2 in Central Falls

Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Silva, seconded by Councilman Ferri. Motion carried unanimously.

Councilman Ferri recused from voting.

 

C.   Resolution thanking and celebrating Jonathon Acosta for his honorable service as Councilman for Ward 1 in Central Fall (Rivera)

Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilman Figueroa. Motion carried unanimously.

 

VII.   Adjournment

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilman Ferri, Councilman Solano and Councilman Silva. Meeting adjourned at 6:04pm.
