City Council President Maria Rivera called the meeting to order at 5:32pm
I. Roll Call
Sonia Grace, City Clerk, conducted the roll call. Present were Council President Maria Rivera, Councilman Jonathon Acosta, Councilman Robert Ferri, Councilman Hugo Figueroa, Councilman Franklin Solano, and Councilwoman Jessica Vega. Councilman Gus Silva were absent. Quorum was present.
II. Pledge of Allegiance
Councilwoman Rivera led the reciting of the pledge of allegiance
III. Schedule of Bills- Hearing and/or consideration
A. Ordinance amending Chapter 2, "Administration," Article I, "In General” by adding Section 2.6: Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency, SUB-A- First Reading (Rivera)
Motion to continue consideration of the ordinance was made by Councilman Ferri, seconded by Councilwoman Vega.
Roll call vote: Councilman Acosta: yes; Councilman Ferri: yes; Councilman Figueroa; yes; Councilman Solano: yes; Councilwoman Vega: yes; Council President Rivera: yes. Motion carried unanimously.
B. Resolution supporting the immediate release of detainees from the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility who are most vulnerable to contracting COVID-19 due to underlying health conditions (Vega)
Motion to approve the resolution was amend the resolution by adding the words: “AND do not pose a threat to public safety” was made by Councilwoman Vega, seconded by Councilman Acosta. Roll call vote: Councilman Acosta: yes; Councilman Ferri: yes; Councilman Figueroa; yes; Councilman Solano: yes; Councilwoman Vega: yes; Council President Rivera: yes. Motion carried unanimously.
IV. Adjournment
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Figueroa, seconded by Councilman Acosta. Meeting adjourned at 5:54pm.
