Minutes
Council President Bob Ferri called the meeting to order at the Central Falls City Council Chambers at 6:02 pm.
1. Roll Call
Sonia Grace, City Clerk, conducted the roll call. Present were Councilman Bob Ferri, Councilman Jonathon Acosta, Councilman Hugo Figueroa, Councilman Thomas Lazieh, Councilwoman Maria Rivera, and Councilman Franklin Solano. Councilwoman Fonseca was absent. Quorum was present.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
Councilman Ferri lead the reciting of the pledge of allegiance.
3. Presentation from Mr. Leonard Morganis, Administration and Finance Officer, regarding finance update
Mr. Leonard Morganis, Administration and Finance Officer, began his presentation by introducing Mr. John Simmons of the RI Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC) who has supported the City with expertise in financial matters.
Mr. Morganis provided an overview of the past 5 years, with detailed information regarding the Fiscal Stability Act and the bankruptcy.
Councilwoman Fonseca entered the meeting at 6:14pm.
Mr. Morganis answered questions from the Council about the expenditure reports, capital expenses and expenses related to the bankruptcy.
Mr. Simmons answered questions from the Council pertaining to his agency’s support of the finance department and the possible results of that work.
4. Adjournment
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Rivera, seconded by Councilman Figueroa. Meeting adjourned at 7:17pm.
