    Council President Robert Ferri called the meeting to order at 6:01pm

 

1.       Roll Call

City Clerk, Sonia Grace, conducted the roll call. Present were Council President Robert Ferri, Councilman Hugo Figueroa,, Councilwoman Stephanie Gonzalez, Councilwoman Ann Racquier and Councilman Ken Vaudreuil. Councilwoman Carlene Fonseca and Councilwoman Tia Ristaino-Siegel were absent.

 

2.      Pledge of Allegiance

Council President Ferri led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

3.      Public Hearing  pertaining to Central Falls Police Department 2016 application for JAG/Byrne Grant funds.

Public Hearing was opened by Council President Ferri.

Colonel James Mendonca, Chief of the Central Falls Police Department was present to describe the JAG/Byrne Grant proposal. Colonel Mendonca explained that the Central Falls Police Department will request $28, 961.00 that will cover three technology-related need of the department.

Councilors asked questions about the equipment to be purchase, the timeline for the grant submittal and the benefits of such purchases.

No one from the public spoke during public hearing.

Council President closed public hearing.

Motion to approve the application of the Central Falls Police Department for the JAG/Byrne Grant funds was made by Councilwoman Gonzalez, seconded by Councilman Figueroa. Motion carried 5-0.

 

4.      Resolution of the Central Falls City Council Supporting the Action of the Second Continental Congress

Motion to approve the resolution was made by Councilman Vaudreuil, seconded by Councilwoman Racquier. Motion carried 5-0.

 

5.      Correspondence from Mayor James Diossa- Executive Order Creating the Reopen the Ralph J. Holden Community Center Commission.

Motion to receive and place on file was made by Councilwoman Racquier, seconded by Councilwoman Gonzalez. Motion carried 5-0.

 

6.      Adjournment

      Motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Racquier, seconded by Councilman Figueroa. Meeting adjourned at 6:16pm.
