Special Meeting Minutes

 

Council President Robert Ferri called the Central Falls City Council meeting to order at 6:44 p.m. at the Central Falls Council Chambers.

 

1.       Roll Call

Roll call was conducted by Assistant city Clerk, Sean Murphy. Present were Councilors Robert Ferri, Stephanie Gonzalez, Tammi Johnson, Shelby Maldonado, Ann Racquier, and Tia Ristaino- Siegel. Hugo Figueroa was not in attendance.

 

2.      Pledge of Allegiance

Pledge of Allegiance was skipped because it was recited earlier in the night.

 

3.      Public Comment

There was no public comment.

 

4.      Consideration of amendment to Lease Agreement between the City of Central Falls and Chein & Associates

Mr. Tobon was present to discuss the lease agreement for his business Chein & Associates. Motion for consideration of the lease was made by Councilwoman Ristaino-Siegel, seconded by Councilwoman Maldonado that the time-frame of the lease shall run from March 30, 2015 – Sept. 30, 2015; that the equipment may stay on the property for winter but must be locked up within the storage container; that the City of Central Falls not be responsible for anything involving the storage/ maintenance of container/ equipment; that Chein & Associates may begin to clean and prepare property March 1, 2015.  Motion passed 4-1. Counselors Racquier, Ristaino-Siegel, Ferri and Maldonado were in the affirmative, Councilwoman Johnson was in the negative. 

 

Councilwoman Gonzalez left the meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Councilwoman Ristaino-Siegel left the meeting at 7:45 p.m.

 

5.      Consideration of Memorandum of Agreement between City Central Falls, Rhode Island and Local 1627, AFSCME Council 94, AFL-CIO

Motion to approve Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Central Falls, RI and Local 1627, AFSCME Council 94, AFL-CIO was made by Councilwoman Racquier, seconded by Councilwoman Johnson. Motion passed 4-0.

 

6.      Consideration of Petition for License- 2015 License Renewals

Motion to approve licenses collectively besides Hacker’s Pub was made by Councilwoman Johnson, seconded by Councilwoman Racquier. Motion passed 4-0.

 

Jose Vicente and his interpreter Mr. Costa represented Hackers Pub. Motion to approve Hacker’s Pub was made by Councilwoman Racquier, seconded by Councilwoman Johnson. Motion passed 4-0.

 

7.      Adjournment

Motion to Adjourn was made by Councilwoman Racquier and Councilwoman Johnson and seconded unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
