Special State Receiver’s Meeting

 

A meeting of the State Receiver’s Council Hearing Officer was held on the above date; in the Council Chambers at 6:00pm John F. McJennett III the Receiver was present.

Mr. Orsen,Esq. was present.

 

  1. Roll Call-. Mr. John McJennett III present.

 

      2. Pledge of Allegiance- was led by Mr. McJennett III.

     

      3. Joint Session with City Council/Information on Grants

            Linda Dykeman, Finance Director was present and introduced Elaine Partridge Director of Planning and Code Enforcement to review the Grant status.  She spoke of the many kinds of grants she has applied for and what the money can be used for.  Edna Poulin of Notre Dame St. questioned her on the Rural grant that was applied for the rubbish trucks.  Discussion ensued.   Thomas Lazieh of 1072 Lonsdale Ave. spoke of past practice on purchase of rubbish trucks and made suggestions. 

Discussion ensued on CDBG grants.

 

Tony Tager Director of Recreation was present and spoke of the different grants pertaining to food and recreation in the manors Councilor Robert Ferri questioned if someone got hurt while he was doing various amusements the liability.  Linda Dykeman said she will look into it.

Joseph Moran of Shawmut Ave. questioned Mr. Tager on recreation programs.

Discussion took place on summer jobs.

Edna Poulin asked if the kids who worked in the program was from the city.  Tony Tager had discussion with her on that.

 

Major Mendonca was present and spoke about the different grants that the Police Department applied for and what was required as a match.  Major Mendonca handed a break down of the grants used.  Discussion ensued.

Chief John Garvey was present from the Fire Department and spoke of the FEMA an other grants applied for.  He has applied for a grant for a fire truck.  He is waiting for a response on it.

 

 

      4. Adjourn-Mr. McJennett III made a motion to adjourn at 6:55pm.
