A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date, in the above location at 6:05pm Council President William Benson Jr. Presided.

Atty. Lawrence Groff was present, Attorney for the City Council

Atty. Richard Kirby was present  

 

  1. Roll Call

Richard Aubin-Present

Eunice Delahoz- Present

Patrick Szlastha-Present

James Diossa- Present

Quorum present.

 

  1. Public Input-

a. Senator Elizabeth Crowley was present and requested that the meeting be recessed and held at the school.  More discussion ensued.

b. Councilor Delahoz asked about having the meeting at the High School.  Other discussion ensued.

c. Respresentative Agostino Silva asked for the meeting to be recessed and continued at High School to allow the people from outside to be present. Discussion ensued.

d. John Osko of 37 Orchard St. questioned the receiver on the Ordinance.

e. Representative James McLaughlin was present and spoke on the Ordinance. Discussion ensued.

f. Jessica Dumas of 211 Illinois St. questioned the receiver on the Ordinance.

g. Joseph Moran  of Temple Place was present and read a statement.

h. Franklin Solano of Hunt St. asked to have the parking ban repealed.

i. Councilor Aubin spoke of the cleaning of streets between 3-7 am. On overtime basis.

j. Lou Isocabar of 378 Cowden St. asked to have the overnight ban repealed.

k. Senator Crowley asked the Council to recess to allow the public outside the opportunity to be present by recessing and going to the High School.

l. Eunice Delahoz Questioned the Deputy Chief of Staff Joseph Materese.

m. Mark Deslauriuis of 176 Washington St. spoke against the ban.  Discussion ensued.

n. Toni Goncalves was present an objected.

o. Jeff Robideau was present of 80 Clay St. Discussion ensued.

 

  1. Receiver’s Input-Gayle Corrigan gave a statement and stated she had to leave due to an unforeseen circumstance.

 

  1. Mayor’s Input- Mayor Charles Moreau was present and requested that the Major go back to the receiver to eliminate the overnight parking ban ordinance. More discussions ensued.

 

President Benson stated he will look into a date a time for another public meeting for the High School.

THESE RESOLUTIONS WERE NOT DISCUSSED.

 

  1. Resolutions

 

a). In support of the Receiver taking action to cause the Wyatt Center to pay its obligation to the City.

 

b).In support of the Receiver hiring appropriate professionals to commence an investigation to recover damages from the contractors and/or constructors causing possible failures to the facility.

 

c). In support of the Receiver request legislature immediately repeal the recently enacted municipal bond hold preference in order to apply those funds to other City obligations.

 

  1. Adjourn- Motion to adjourn made by Councilor Delahoz, seconded by Councilor Aubin. All agreed. Time: 7:25pm
