A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date, in the Council Chambers at 6:00pm Council President William Benson Jr. Presided.

Council President Benson presided and led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.

1. Town of Portsmouth, RI re: Opposition to house Bill 5931 and Senate Bill 606 re: Requiring local Tax Collector’s to notify Rhode Island Housing & Mortgage Finance Corp of pending Tax Sales.

2. Lionel Remy- Thank you for Condolences.

1) City Clerk Reports—December, 2009

Motion to accept and place on file collectively items A and B made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor Delahoz. All Agreed. So voted. 5-0

D) Claims—to be referred Claims committee

1. Claudia Guarin—of 120 Butler Ave. for alleged damages to her vehicle as a result of a collision with a police vehicle on 12/10/2009.

2. Simple Pleasures Spa -753 Broad St. re: Failure to vote upon the license application filed by Plaintiff.

Jack Gannon, Esq. was present and asked to explain. He stated that this item was filed before the Council rendered a decision on the matter.

Motion to refer these two items to the Claims Committee was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilor Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

6. Ordinance/Introduction

a). Amending The Ordinance Pertaining to the Salaries of Department Heads & Others in Unclassified Service at the request of Councilor Delahoz.

Councilor Benson read the Title, so introduced.

7. Executive Session Pursuant to: RI GEN LAWS 42-46-5 (a)(2)Pending litigation and strategy discussion as related to the Governor’s cuts.

Motion to adjourn into Executive session made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilor Delahoz. All agreed. So voted. 5-0 Time: 6:35pm

Reconvened at: 7:15pm

Motion to seal the minutes was made by Councilor Szlastha, seconded by Councilor Delahoz. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

9. New Business - Jack Gannon, Esq. presented the Council with a proposed Ordinance to be heard at next meeting regarding sidewalk café’s.

10. Adjourn Motion to adjourn was made by all. All agreed. So voted. Time: 7:16pm.
