2.         Executive Session

Pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-46-5(a)(1) PERSONNEL   RELATED ISSUES – As pertaining to Council appointments.

Motion to adjourn into Executive session made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilor Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0  Time: 6:34pm

Reconvened at: 8:40pm

Motion to seal the minutes was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilor Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

3.         Council Interviews with Council appointments.

–They were done in executive session.

4.         Raffle

a) Central Falls Lions Reunion Funddraiser- May 8 & 9^th at the Madeira Club.

Motion to approve  was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilor Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0.  Motion carries.

5.         Addendum  #2

a). Resolution in Support of Legislation Authorizing Municipalities including the City of Central Falls to file for protection under Chapter 9 of the US Bankruptcy Code, as amended (at the request of Councilor Benson)

The Council questioned City Solicitor Jack Gannon,Esq. on the ramifications of this legislation.

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Szlastha, seconded by Councilor Aubin.

So voted. 4-Yes-1 abststained.  Motion carries.

6.         Retail Sales License—first appearance

a). Navneet Chawla

      d/b/a Metro PCs/One Rate Wireless

      531 Dexter St.

Councilor Aubin questioned the manager (the applicant could not be present due to a family emergency) Councilor Aubin questioned the manager as to why they had been open with no license in place.  He could not answer, and needed more information from the owner.

Motion to table  was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilor Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0.  Motion carries.

Councilor Benson reported to the Council problems he is still having complains pertaining to Kidz Cuts on Lonsdale Ave. and will be directing the Law department to send a Summons for a just cause hearing.
