A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date, in the Council Chambers at  6:10  pm. Council President William Benson Jr. Presided.

Motion to accept and place on file collectively items A to D made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilors Delahoz.   All Agreed.  So voted. 4-0

a).        Robert Leblanc –1092 Lonsdale Ave. for alleged damages to his vehicle as a result of a pothole on Dexter St. on 3/14/2010.

b).        Lloyd W. Pinderhughes of- 372 Grosvenor Ave. E. Prov.- for alleged damages to his vehicle as a result of hitting a pot hole on 113 Chestnut St. on 3-9-2010.

Motion to refer both claims to the Claim Committee collectively was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilors Delahoz .All agreed. So voted. 4-0

b).        Authorizing the Mayor to execute a formal application with United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Grant in the amount of$4,807.00.

c).        Authorizing the Mayor to execute a formal application with United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Grant in the amount of $ 5,250.00.

d).        Authorizing the Mayor to execute a formal application with United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Grant in the amount of $8,952.00.

11.       Ordinance/ First Passage

a).        An Ordinance adopting and enacting a New Code for the City of Central Falls, Rhode Island; Providing for the repeal of certain Ordinances not included therein; Providing a penalty for the violation thereof: providing for the manner of amending such code: and providing when such code and this ordinance shall become effective.

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Delahoz, seconded by Councilors Aubin. All agreed. So voted. 4-0

a)         An Ordinance Amending Section 32-32 Collection of Refuse at Commercial Establishments at the request of Councilor Benson. (Public hearings held on all)

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilors Delahoz. All agreed. So voted. 4-0

b)         An Ordinance Amending Section 32-31 Entitled Eligibility of Household Refuse Collection by the Department of Public Works.

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilors Delahoz. All agreed. So voted. 4-0

c)         An Ordinance Establishing A Sidewalk Café License     

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilors Delahoz. All agreed. So voted. 4-0

 

13.       Executive Session Pursuant to RIGL-42-46-5(a) 2-Work Session pertaining Collective Bargaining or Litigation

 

Motion to adjourn into Executive Session was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Councilors Delahoz. All agreed. So voted. 4-0  TIME: 7:00PM

 

Meeting came back to order at 8:30pm.
