A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date, in the Council Chambers at 6:05pm Council President William Benson Jr. Presided.

Motion to accept and place on file collectively items A through D made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor Delahoz.  All Agreed.  So voted. 5-0

a). Paul J. Savoie Jr. of 11 Echo St. for alleged damages to his vehicle  parked unattended-on 1/19/2009 by a City Plow.

            (under $2500.00)

 

Councilor Aubin made a motion to refer this item to the Claims Committee, second by Councilor Delahoz, all agreed. So voted. 5-0

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Aubin, seconded by Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

 

8.   Public Hearing-Presentation- re: Stimulus Byrne/Jag Grant Monies—as requested by Colonel Moran.

Colonel Moran explained the grant and what it would be used for.

Council President Benson opened the public hearing , then closed it.

 

9.   Presentation by Robert Billington re; Pilot program of outdoor eating.

Robert Billington was present and gave a request for the establishments to allow outdoor eating.

 

10.               Mayor’s Comments

Mayor Charles Moreau was present and gave an update on all City projects.

1.      Approving the purchase of 229 Washington St.

2.      Authorizing Mayor Charles D. Moreau to file RI Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Application for Program year 2009.

3.      Authorizing Mayor Charles D. Moreau to execute a deed to Purchase 131 Lincoln Ave.

4.      Authorizing Mayor Charles D. Moreau to execute a deed to purchase 108 Washington St.

Motion to approve A,C, and D was made by Councilor Delahoz, seconded by Szlastha. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

 

Motion to approve item B was made by Councilor Delahoz, seconded by O’Connor. All agreed. So voted. 5-0
