A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date, in the Council Chambers at 6:03pm Council President William Benson Jr. Presided.

 

1.      Roll Call

 

Richard Aubin-Present

Eunice Delahoz-Present

Patrick Szlastha-Present

Elizabeth A. Crowley-Present

William Benson-Present

Quorum present.

 

2.      Pledge of Allegiance

Council President Benson led the assembly in the Pledge Allegiance.

 

3.      Mayor’s Comments

Mayor Moreau was present and spoke in favor of the proposed Ordinance to allow alcoholic beverages on City Property.

 

4.      Retail Sales License

Motion to approve for new items only was made by Councilor Crowley, seconded by all remaining Councilors, All agreed. So voted. 5-0

Councilor Crowley reminded her that she must come before the Council again for her second hand license which must be advertised.

Fundraiser for a sick child

 

Motion to approve was made by Councilor Crowley,  seconded by all remaining Councilors. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

 

6.      Ordinance/ Final Passage

An Ordinance Regulating the Use of Public Parks in the City of Central falls.

 

The Council members had concern on the posting of this item.  Because the last time this was brought before them there was as 2 to 2 tide vote, so the Council feels the motion to approve died.  No one from the law department was present.

The Council request a written opinion from the law department.

Motion to amend the Ordinance made by Councilor Crowley # 6 to the application process, all servers must be tips, or stop trained. And applicant must sign indemnification agreement, and # 8 Rescue Vehicle to be located on site. And # 1 to be changed to 45 days before event, seconded by Councilor Aubin.  All agreed. So voted on the amendment. 5-0.

Motion to amend again was made by Councilor Delahoz, to change the bond from 5 million to 2 million seconded by Councilor Aubin. All agreed. So voted. 5-0

 

Motion to approve the final passage of this ordinance was made by Councilor Szlastha, , seconded by Councilor Crowley, All agreed. So voted. 3-0

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilor Szlastha, seconded by Councilor Aubin,. All agreed. So voted. Time: 7:03
