A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m.

Personnel Director Gene R. Noury

Human Resource Director Gene Noury was unable to attend this meeting.

 

6.    Public Input

 

Chief Moran gave a lengthy overview of the events that took place at 71 Rand Street that resulted in the fatal shoot of a suspect by Central Falls Police Department. He spoke of his displeasure that Councilor Patino joined the ACLU, and the press in demanding the release of the names of the Police Officers involved in the incident. He stated that at the April meeting the City Council gave the Department it's 100% support and to later hear through the media and on Spanish radio that Councilor Patino has changed his views on the subject was disappointing to the Department. Colonel Moran stated that the Council should have discussed his concerns with him instead of making the issue a media event.
