A Budget workshop for the of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 5:34p.m. Councilor Eunice Delahoz was Finance Chairperson.

Laura Marlene Director of the Library was present and discussed her budget request. The council questioned the number of employees in her department. She stated that she had 7 employees. Discussion took place on the reduction on non-capital equipment account. She also requested an increase for the possibility of a security guard.
Tony Tager Director of the Recreation Department was present to discuss his budget request. He is asking for a full time assistant rather than a 32 week assistant that he has now. Discussion took place on the cost for this kind of item. He also stated that last year he only received a 1% pay raise. The council questioned him on the number of employees he had for the summer. He stated 22 full time 2 seasonal. They discussed the money in other professional services to be used for security.
Celebration Account: They discussed the items that are covered in this account. Car show, concerts in the park, sports for seniors, Hershey run, inauguration, etc,.
Raymond Cooney, Esq. was present to discuss the Legal department budget. He is requesting a part time attorney to help one day a week to help with prosecutions that was handled by a police officer, now deemed by court to be a conflict. Salaries were discussed. He also asked to equalize the clerk salary to compare to the legal clerk’s salary.
Art Hanson of the Planning Department was present to discuss the Planning department’s budget. The only items in the budget are the salaries and they are asking for a 6% pay raise because they did not get a raise last year.
Frou Chartier was present from the Board of Canvassers to discuss her budget. She was asking for a 6% pay increase. Councilman Patino stated that he feels get 1.5% because there is no money. She also spoke of poll workers pay raises. Councilman Benson stated they could not get poll workers at the last election.
Wayne Brown, tax assessor was present to discuss his budget. He spoke of purchasing a computer and a printer for his department.

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilor Aubin and seconded by Councilor Delahoz. All Agreed. So Voted. Adjourned 7:25pm.
