11.  Public Comments

 

Robert Bradley, President of IAFF 1485 extended sincere thanks regarding negotiations between the City and the firefighters.

 

George Ganon of 396 Roosevelt Ave. spoke on an incident of loud music and party by a large group of people in the building at 404 Roosevelt Avenue. He stated that he called the Police and asked about the Ordinance pertaining to loud music and partying. He was told that they had a legal permit to have the event and that permit was until midnight.  He related that Police Officers and Firefighters were on duty. He also commented on the amount of litter.

 

Council President Weber questioned when the license was approved.

 

He asked that the Chief look into the issue.  He also asked the clerk to research when the permit was granted. Council President Weber asked Councilman Leger and Councilman Silva to find out what was going on.

 

Councilman Leger commented on private residences and detail officers for a house party.

 

Council President Weber questioned the procedure in hiring a Police detail.

 

Chief Moran explained.

 

Councilman Benson commented on Police and Fire details.

 

Councilman Leger commented further on procedures.

 

Mr. Zuba of Orchard Street requested that the Council place stipulations on the abandonment. He requested that an easement be a condition of the abandonment.

 

Council President Weber requested that Mr. Hanson be requested to appear at the September 12th meeting.
