The Regular Meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 6:50 p.m.

Council President Weber presided and led the Assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Council President Weber welcomed Mayor Moreau and the new Councilman to the Council Chambers and wished each of them success throughout their term.

Motion to accept collectively and place on file was made by Councilman Patino and seconded by Councilman Silva. Councilman Patino requested that Department Heads be called to come to the meeting to make a verbal report.
Council President Weber asked the Clerk to ask the Chief of Police and the Chief of the Fire Department to make February’s meeting for a report.

Mayor Moreau stated that he respectfully submits the name of Elizabeth Crowley for the position of City Clerk and asked the Council to approve this appointment. He stated that the Clerk has been an employee in the City Hall for many years and is a Central Falls resident. He expressed his thanks to the Clerk and her staff for organizing and planning the Inauguration, which was a huge success, and he expressed how they worked tirelessly to make sure that it would be a successful event.

Mayor Moreau stated that he is looking forward to the next two years. He expressed to the Council that he wished to maintain an open dialog with them on an as needed basis and that he is ready to roll up his sleeves for the task ahead.

Council President Weber stated that the above appointments would be made at the February or March Meeting.

Council President Weber without objection recommended that Andrew Moreau of 466 Hunt St. be appointed as City Sergeant. Motion to approve was made by Councilman Leger and seconded by Councilman Silva & Benson. All Agreed. So Voted.

Motion to reappoint was made by Councilman Leger and seconded by Councilman Silva and Councilman Benson. All Agreed. So Voted.
Council President Weber commented on the Workshops being held by the League of Cities and Towns and encouraged Council Members to attend.
Mayor Moreau commented on joining the League and commented on the advantages for doing so.
He spoke of the savings other communities received when they joined together with their electric needs. He stated that if the City had joined it would have realized a $200,000 savings in electric costs.
Council President Weber requested that the Clerk send a letter to Bladez and Upper Cuts to ask them to attend the next meeting of the City Council. He stated that the reason for this request is to talk to them about the loitering in from of their business, loud music and parking.
He also asked that the Chief of Police and the Fire Chief be invited to give a verbal report on their respective Departments.
Councilman Patino commented on the Ordinance that the Fire Chief wished to have introduced regarding Fire Inspection Fees that has been established by State Law.
