A meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 11:18 a.m.

2. Pledge of Allegiance
Council President Weber presided and led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. License renewals
Waterfalls Car Wash Inc.

Central Falls, R.I. 02863
Milard Shabo was present to represent the Car Wash.
Council President Weber questioned the Clerk on the status of the business.
The Clerk responded that the business has complied with all the state requirements. She deferred to the Finance Director relative to any city tax issues.
Finance Director John Kuzmiski replied that with regards to tangible taxes the business is current. He did, however, relate that there were approximately 35 to 100 businesses whose tangible taxes were incorrectly assessed and that the City, after the hiring of a new Assessor, may send out supplemental tax bills. He stated that the Car Wash falls within this assessment error.
He also related that the real estate taxes are not current but it is owned by a limited liability corporation. Mr. Kuzmiski commented that this company was scheduled for tax sale but payment was made to satisfy the removal from the sale. He said that since that time the October payment has not been made and the 3rd quarter payment will be due on January 1, 1005.
Assistant Solicitor John Gannon stated that they are two separate entities and the Car Wash cannot be held responsible for the real estate taxes. He did however state that the Car Wash will be subject to any supplemental tax bill.
Mr. Shabo stated that he has refinances with Randolph Bank and they are escrowing his taxes. He stated that everything is up to par and that he is in the process of appealing his tax assessments before the Board of Appeals.
Councilman Benson motioned to approve the renewal of this license since the business has met all the requirements of the State and City.
Councilman Silva stated to Mr. Shabo that he should keep current on these issues so this doesn't happen in the future. He seconded the motion to approve.

4. Adjourn
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Benson and seconded by Councilman Silva. All Agreed. So Voted. Time 11:30 p.m.
