At 12:00 p.m.

 

A Special Meeting of the Central Falls City Council was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 12:05 p.m.

 

1. Roll Call

 

Councilman Lazieh

Councilwoman Canavan

Councilman Noury

Quorum present.

 

2. Pledge of Allegiance

 

Council President Noury presided and led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

3. Public Comments

 

None

 

4. Correspondence

 

Muriel A. Lanfredi, Esq. re: Muffler’s Unlimited Inc.

 

Motion to accept and place on file was made by Councilman Lazieh and seconded by Councilwoman Canavan.  All Agreed. So Voted.

 

5. Automotive Repair License

 

Hector Solis

d/b/a Muffler’s Unlimited Inc.

759-769 High St.

 

Council President Noury asked Mr. Dumont to report on the status of the wall.

 

Mr. Dumont commented that the wall as well as the fence has been constructed.

 

Council President Noury questioned Mr. Briden and addressed Mr. Solis.

 

Motion to approve the return of the license to Mr. Solis was made by Councilman Lazieh and seconded by Councilwoman Canavan. 

 

Council President Noury stated to Mr. Solis to be a good neighbor from this point forward. All Agreed. So Voted.

 

6. Resolution

 

A) Resolution extending the Condolences of the Central Falls City Council to the Family of the late Cristian Roa.

 

B) Resolution extending the Condolences of the Central Falls City Council to the Family of the late Leo Labossiere.

 

Motion to approve collectively was made by Councilman Lazieh and seconded by Councilwoman Canavan.  All Agreed. So Voted.

 

7. Unfinished Business

 

Council President Noury stated that the next Regular City Council Meeting will be held on Monday, October 22, 2001.

 

Councilman Lazieh stated that he would like the issues that was previously addressed to be on the October agenda such items as the report from the Legal Department regarding the transfer of City Property, the WDC claim, attorney’s fees, the PWS issue, and amended budget for fiscal year 2001/2002, financial reports, arbitration award etc.

None

 

9. Adjourn

 

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Canavan and seconded by Councilman Lazieh.

All Agreed. So Voted.  Time 12:26 p.m.
