A meeting of the Claims Committee was held on the above date in the City Hall Council Chambers at 5:09 p.m.
All members were present.
a. Jose A. Matafome for damages incurred to 606 Dexter St as a result of a sewer back up.
Assistant Solicitor Oliverio explained how the City contracted for this service he commented on GEM Plumbing and explained that the City was not responsible for the Claim in the amount of $322.50 paid by Mr. Matafome to scope the lines he recommended that the City pay for the Gem Plumbing bill in the amount of $234.00.
Motion to approve the payment of $234.00 as recommended by the Solicitor was made by Councilman Leger and seconded by Councilman Issa. All agreed. So Voted.
b. Menise Tailoring 1271 Broad St. for alleged damages to her business by police as a result of a police raid.
Menise was present and explained what happened. Chairman Noury questioned the claimant extensively.
Councilman Leger commented that the claimant needed to provide more evidence.
Solicitor Oliverio commented. Chairman Noury questioned the length of time taken prior to action.
Menise explained that she was waiting for the Police report.
Solicitor Oliverio stated that there still isn't enough evidence regarding the actions that took place and recommended that the Committee deny the Claim.
Chairman Noury commented to the claimant that unless there is more evidence presented the Board could not act on the Claim.
Motion to table was made by Councilman Weber and seconded by Councilman Patino. All Agreed. So Voted.
c. Antonio J Miguel for damages to his vehicle incurred as a result of pothole on Broad St.
Motion to table was made by Councilman Leger and seconded by Councilman Weber. All Agreed. So Voted.
a. Kelkat Holdings Inc as an alleged result of damages due to a decision of the Zoning Enforcement Office for the property at 42- 44 Parker St.
Solicitor Olivierio explained that the matter is in Superior Court.
a. Kellyann Patenaude for an alleged assault from one student on another on a school bus.
b. Joel Morales for damages incurred as a result of a bicycle collision with a Police vehicle.
c. Brian Maloney for alleged violation of Human Rights Commission.
Motion to refer to the Trust collectively was made by Councilman Leger and seconded by Councilman Weber.
All Agreed. So Voted.
a. Thomas Gamache etals for damages incurred as a result of a pension status.
Motion to table was made by Councilman Leger and seconded by Councilman Issa. All Agreed. So Voted.
b. Angel Rivera for injuries incurred at playground at Jenks Park Playground.
Motion to table was made by Councilman Patino and seconded by Councilman Issa. All Agreed. So Voted.
