A meeting of the Beldign City Council of the City of Belding, Michigan was convened in open and public Session at the Pere Marquette Depot, 100 Depot Street, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Mayor Jeannine Leary called the meeting to order and led with the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Present: Shelley Gladding, Bonita Steele, Linda Curtis, Nikolai Zerkle, Jeannine Leary

The purpose of the meeting was to conduct City Manager candidate interviews.

Council discussed Candidate interviews and reached a consensus of the top Candidate.
Moved by _Shelley Gladding____________, seconded by __Bonita Steele__________________, on behalf of the City of Belding, the league facilitator shall extend a conditional offer of employment to _Adam Poll____________________________ for the position of City Manager.

Council discussed contract negotiation with _Adam Poll_____________________.
Moved by _Shelley Gladding______________, seconded by _Linda Curits__________________, to request ___Jeannine Leary and Bonita Steele___ to begin discussions with _Adam Poll_____, pursuant to an employment agreement suitable for formal approval by the City Council at an upcoming meeting.

Public comment-Jim Mason thought staff should have been asked which candidate they would have picked.
