WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES
BELDING CITY COUNCIL
Tuesday, August 26, 2025
5:00 p.m.
A meeting of the Belding City Council of the City of Belding, Michigan was convened in open and public session at the Pere Marquette Depot, 100 Depot Street, at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
Mayor Jeannine Leary called the meeting to order.
City Clerk, Janae Ortego took the roll call:
Members present: Shelley Gladding (arrived at 5:04 p.m.) , Bonita Steele, Nikolai Zerkle, Linda Curtis and Jeannine Leary
Members absent: None
Moved by Steele, seconded by Zerkle to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried by the following roll call vote: Yes – all.
A. The Council discussed options to begin a search for a new City Manager. Three options were presented:
1. MML
2. The Pivot Group
3. Axios Group
After discussing each company presented (Quotes on file in the Clerk’s Office), it was moved by Steele and seconded by Gladding to proceed with the proposal from the Pivot Group as presented. Motion carried by the following roll call vote: Yes – all.
City Manager Keven Krieger commented on the following topics of interest:
· Moving forward and using the Pivot Group
Steele made closing comments.
Curtis made closing comments.
Zerkle made closing comments.
Gladding made closing comments.
Mayor Leary made closing comments.
Moved by Gladding, seconded by Steele to adjourn the meeting at 5:32 p.m. Motion carried by the following roll call vote: Yes – all.
